Installation Seagate FireCuda 520 PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD (1TB = 1 Terabyte) on the ASRock B550 Steel Legend motherboard.

M.2 SSD (NGFF) Module Installation Guide (M2_1): The M.2, also known as the Next Generation Form Factor (NGFF), is a small size and versatile card edge connector that aims to replace mPCIe and mSATA. The Hyper M.2 Socket (M2_1) supports M Key type 2230/2242/2260/2280 M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen4x4 (64 Gb/s with Matisse) or Gen3x4 (32 Gb/s with Renoir).

1) Before installing a M.2 (NGFF) SSD module, please loosen the screws to remove the M.2 heatsink. In this case the heatsink is already removed.

2) Prepare the M.2 standoff that comes with the package. Then hand tighten the standoff into the desired nut location (see CT11 CT12 or CT13) on the motherboard (in this case not needed as we use the CT14 position, also used for the heatsink).

3) Align and gently insert the M.2 (NGFF) SSD module into the M.2 slot. Please be aware that the M.2 (NGFF) SSD module only fits in one orientation.

4) Remove the protective film on the bottom side of the M.2 heatsink and install the heatsink on top of the SSD module. Tighten the screw with a screwdriver to secure the heatsink and SSD module into place. Please do not overtighten the screw as this might damage the module.

The Seagate FireCuda SSD (Solid-State Drive) solutions are designed and built specifically with the needs of professional-level gamers in mind. Unleash the speed of PCIe 4.0 x4 with FireCuda 520 PCIe Gen4 SSD, the M.2 NVMe SSD is built for pro-level gaming and nearly 45% faster than previous generations. It provides plug-and-play compatibility with all PCIe 4.0 motherboards, and delivers an extreme boost in performance with the latest 3D TLC NAND technology. Upgrading to the FireCuda 520 unlocks Gen4 speed and supplies up to 9x faster sequential reads than SATA SSDs. Pair a 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Desktop Processor with the new FireCuda 520 to unlock true PCIe Gen4 speeds for the ultimate PC gaming builds.
