Air Astana is the flag carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based in Almaty. It operates scheduled, domestic and international services on 64 routes from its main hub, Almaty International Airport, and from its secondary hub, Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport. It was incorporated in October 2001 and started commercial flights on 15 May 2002. Today, the Air Astana airline's fleet is the youngest in Europe and consists of all Western-made aircraft. At the end of 2016, the company's fleet was replenished first in the post-Soviet countries of the Airbus A320neo. In January 2018, the company adopted the first Airbus A321neo in the post-Soviet countries. In 2019 Air Astana will become the first operator of the long-range version of the Airbus A321neo in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The long-range A321neo is configured for 166 passengers:
16 business class seats and 150 economy class. The interior has been designed specifically for Air Astana. Business passengers are provided with a lie-flat seat and a 16-inch colour screen and work system. Economy passengers with a 10-inch screen. The cabin is equipped with a Zodiac (RAVE) in-flight entertainment system.
