Johan "Joop" Nicolaas Mulder (1915-1991) was a Dutch officer of the Royal Netherlands Army who escaped to England in May 1940. From there he moved to the Dutch East Indies and trained as a naval pilot. In 1944 he became a commander in the 320th Dutch Squadron RAF. After the war he raised to the rank of Major General in the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF). Among his many military decorations,
Mulder received his nation's highest award for valour, the Knight 4th class of the Military William Order (MWO.4) in November 1947.

Hugo Victor Benjamin Burgerhout (1913-1988) was a Dutch soldier of the Netherlands Naval Aviation Service and fought as Flying Officer
(Luitenant-ter-zee der Eerste Klasse) against the Japanese Empire. Hugo Burgerhout remained active in the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) until 1958, when he was honourably discharged. Among his many military decorations, Bergerhout received his nation's highest award for valour, the Knight 4th class of the Military William Order (MWO.4) in December 1950.
