The gardens surrounding Linderhof Palace are considered one of the most beautiful creations of historicist garden design,
designed by Court Garden Director Carl von Effner (also known as Karl von Effner, Carl Joseph von Effner and Carl Effner).
With the Baroque design of the parterres, the Renaissance-style terraces and the landscape park based on ideas from England,
together with elements from historic gardens such as Marly le Roi in France or La Granja in Spain, Linderhof is one of the finest existing
examples of the mixed style of garden. Here a Star-shaped flowerbed, one of the many flowerbeds at the Linderhof Park.

Schloss Linderhof (Linderhof Palace) is a "Königliche Villa" (Royal Villa) in southwest Bavaria near Ettal Abbey, Germany.
It is the smallest of the three palaces built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the only one which he lived to see completed.
