View from Donauturn (Danube Tower) to Brigittenauer Brücke (bridge), Donauinsel (Danube Island) and Millennium Tower.

The Brigittenauer Bridge is a six-lane road bridge over the Danube in Vienna. She has foot and cycle paths and is characterized by the red color.
It connects the two Viennese districts Brigittenau and Floridsdorf. The bridge opened in 1982.

Construction of the "Donauinsel" (Danube Island) as a flood protection was started in the early 1970s. Excavation material was dumped between the New Danube and the existing river bed to create 21 kilometres of artificial island - the Danube Island. The island was subsequently turned into a leisure time and recreational area. 170 hectares of new wood plus an additional 1.8 million trees and bushes were planted between 1974 and 1988. The island is divided into three parts, natural areas in the north and south and a city-park like area in the centre.

The Millennium Tower with a height of 171 metres (561 feet) was designed by the architects Gustav Peichl, Boris Podrecca and Rudolf Weber.
The tower has 51 floors, serves both commercial and residential purposes, and is the focal point of a complex known as "Millennium City".
It was completed in 1999 for the coming of the third millennium.
