HNLMS "Tromp" (F803) is the second "De Zeven Provinciën" class frigate of the Royal Netherlands Navy. It was laid down in 1999, launched in 2001, and commissioned in 2003. The frigate is named after Dutch naval heroes Maarten Tromp (1598–1653) and Cornelis Tromp (1629–1691).
An international prefix for Dutch Navy ships is HNLMS (His/Her Netherlands Majesty's Ship). The Dutch Navy itself uses the prefixes Zr. Ms.
(Zijner Majesteits, His Majesty's) when a king is on the throne, and Hr. Ms. (Harer Majesteits, Her Majesty's) when there is a queen. At the time of this photo in 2010, Queen Beatrix was on the thrown and so all ship had the Hr. Ms. (Harer Majesteits, Her Majesty's) as prefix.
