General Dynamics (Fokker) F-16AM Fighting Falcon (E-191) from the Royal Danish Air Force at the RIAT 2019, RAF Fairford (United Kingdom)
On 15 June 2019 Denmark celebrated Valdemarsdag, the anniversary of King Valdemar's victory in the Battle of Lindanise (present day Tallinn, Estonia) in 1219. According to the legend, on that day 800 years ago, the flag of Denmark "Dannebrog" (which translates to "the cloth of the Danes" or the "red flag") fell from the sky. For this occasion, the General Dynamics (Fokker) F-16AM Fighting Falcon (serial E-191) was completely adorned with a cool paint scheme (designed by aviation artist Mads Bangsø) featuring the Danish flag and 800 years markings.
The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is the world's largest military air show, held annually over the third weekend in July,
usually at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England in support of The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.
The show typically attracts a total of 150.000 to 160.000 spectators over the weekend.
