Amur Tiger at Zoo Leipzig, also known as "Leipzig Zoological Garden" (Germany)

The Amur Tiger, also called Siberian Tiger, is a tiger population inhabiting mainly the Sikhote Alin mountain region in southwest Primorye Province in the Russian Far East. The Amur Tiger once ranged throughout Korea, Northeast China, Russian Far East, and eastern Mongolia. Amur Tigers' colouring can be somewhat lighter than that of other tigers, especially in winter, and their fur is orange or light orange.

Zoo Leipzig is in charge of the International StudBooks (breed registry) for this tiger species.
