Eastern Long-neck Turtle at Zoo Leipzig, also known as "Leipzig Zoological Garden" (Germany)

The Eastern Long-neck Turtle is an east Australian species of snake-necked turtle that inhabits a wide variety of water bodies and is an opportunistic feeder. It is a side-necked turtle, meaning that it bends its head sideways into its shell rather than pulling it directly back. The Eastern Long-neck Turtles hibernate during winter and the summer rains are their cue to haul themselves out of their creeks and ponds to find food.
They eat fish, tadpoles, frogs and crayfish which they tear apart with their front claws - turtles do not have teeth.
