View on Forggensee and Bannwaldsee

In 1954 the Forggensee was retained to the fifth largest lake in Bavaria. It is the main repository for numerous hydroelectric power plants. In winter the lake is drained and the river Lech and the mudcovered former Schwangauer meadow reappears. The Forggensee could be called a lake only from the middle of June until late October. On the right you see the Bannwaldsee lake.
